As for the costs and risks of Talecrafting.. I think they are well worth it, simply because of how powerful the ability to Talecraft is. For less than 4 glamour, a Changeling can spontaneously generate ANY cliche or story trope he wants. Is the Changeling in a gunfight? Use a Hook to make sure that the opponents have bad aim. Get into a massive battle against a group of foes? Use a Hook to make them all attack you one at a time. Get shot? Make a Hook that says someone gave you a locket/badge/toekn of emotion, and let the bullet hit that instead of you. Hell, the hooks of Burried Treasure, Transformative Fate, and the Presence of Poison alone show why the Changelings need to pay a steep price for rewriting Fate itself. Changelings that don't specialize in Talecraft will probably think of one or two uses for it in emergency situations at least, and certain character types will be Talecrafting as often as they can, regardless of drawbacks and addiction.
