AW: Mnemosyne, Aristotele & Becks
Ich habe natürlich auch ein bisschen herum gewühlt...
Aber es scheint wirklich nicht all zu viel bekannt zu sein. Viel Spekulation und wenig Fakten:
Beckett
Wandering the globe for at least 300 years, exploring Kindred lore and mythology, Beckett may be the one of the greatest Noddists historians and arcehologists of the World of Darkness'.
Rather well connected and educated, Beckett is one of the rare Gangrel cultivating contacts and allies around the word, from the ranks of mortal and supernatural alike. Few know him well, however. Among these are his erstwhile companions - Lucita and the raving prophet Anatole. His long time adversary and competitor is the Tzimisce scholar Sascha Vykos.
Known over the world for coming and going as he pleases and always appearing when "interesting" items, books, scraps or stories appear. He is well known for his theories that the story of Cain and Abel is actually a myth stemming from the human civilization moving past the hunter-gatherer into a agricultural society. How this was connected with vampirism he is not sure, but if anyone can find the evidence and find out the truth, Beckett can.
His knowledge of ancient lore, linguistics and fighting skills is perfectly complemented by mastery of a number of disciplines outside the usual purvey of the Gangrel, and more then a passing knowledge of Thaumaturgy. His skill with the gangrel trademark disciplines is such that he often travels like a wolf, and that he was known to run the length of a football field under the scorching sun.
Beckett <Gen. 7> Progeny of Aristotle de Laurent (adoptive). Enemy of Vykos. One of the most famous Noddist, said to be a member of the Mnemosyne, the Memory-Seekers, the bloodline of Caine-worshippers who devote themselves to the study of the first vampire and The Book of Nod.
Auszug aus der "Encyclopaedia Vampyrica":
"Beckett: Eine Aura des Geheimnisvollen ungibt den als B. bekannten Vampir, einen Gangrel der 7. Generation. B. gibt sich häufig als Kind des Autors dieser Zeilen aus, was ich aber trotz unserer engen Verbundenheit als Lüge zurückweisen muß. Visionär, der sich vor keinem Malkavianer verstecken muß. Zeitpunkt des Kusses u. Erzeuger unbekannt. Die Beziehung zwischen uns ist die zwischen Mentor und Protegé.
Jedenfalls übertrifft B. sogar Anatole u. Lucita bei seiner fieberhaften Suche nach historischen Dokumenten des "Zustands der Kainskinder". Unlängst sorgte B. für Unruhe in der Vampirgesellschaft, als er Behauptete, das Buch Nod sei nicht wörtlich zu nahmen, sondern sei lediglich eine Allgorie oder Fabel.
B., der immer unterwegs zu sein scheint, bleibt selten lange an einem Ort, dann überkommt ihn wieder die Wanderlust, u. sein Wissensdurdt treibt ihn weiter. Seine tiefe Leidenschaft gilt der Entwirrung der Geheimnisse der kainitischen Gesellschaft, u. B. hat bewiesen, daß er fast alles täte, um Antworten zu finden."
Der "Autor" dieses Textes ist Aristotèle de Laurent. Er wird beschrieben als Ahn der Mnemosynen.
In der Encyclopaedia Vampyrica ist auch noch eine zweite Theorie wer Beckett sein könnte

Offiziell wurde er Anfang des 16.Jahrhunderts von den Giovanni vernichtet.
Aber zufällig gibt es ja noch Thomas => Beckett, dessen Clan nicht einmal sein Freund Aristotèle mit Sicherheit bestimmen kann.
