Germans
Germans tend to be direct and to the point about everything. Their demeanour, like their language itself, is perceived as gruff and harsh. Perhaps not surprisingly, they can also be extremely passionate in their beliefs and actions. Their skills in battle and industry are also a matter of great personal pride. A German will readily fight for what he believes in, or to defend himself against an insult, real or imagined. They make excellent allies and implacable enemies.
Names: Guenther, Adolf, Wilhelm, Brunhilde, Elsa, Gretchen.
Canadians
Canadians are generally quiet people who appreciate solitude. They do not mind cold weather, and in many cases prefer it. Canadians tend to be hardy and can swim, hike, and hunt for extended periods of time. They speak English with a noticeable French accent and a few of their own special pronunciations (ow sounds as oo for example). Canadians drink more beer per capita than any other nation-state on Earth.
Names: Denise, Harriet, Jacqueline, Darcy, Louis, Jean-Paul
French
Where the Spanish are open-minded and tolerant, the French are very much the opposite. They tend to see their way as the best and everyone else’s as unimportant or just plain wrong. They rarely admit they are mistaken about anything, and even when faced with undeniable proof that they made an error, their response is to shrug it off and change the subject. Frenchmen are often seen as arrogant and self absorbed, although frequently this is simply a misinterpretation of their own vanity. When he puts his mind to it, a Frenchman can be just as friendly and outgoing as the next human, if not more so.
Colombians
Colombians like mining and spelunking and are accustomed to underground settings. Because of the constant threat from the drug cartels, Colombians live in one of the most dangerous countries on Earth, and are accustomed to violence. A typical Colombian considers force as the solution to a problem before a more peaceful solution. Associating with an impulsive Colombian is a dangerous proposition!
Swiss
The Swiss are, in general, used to a life of peace and calm, and do not stand up to stress or hard work very well. They are smart, but do not lord their intelligence over others. They consider their country the best on Earth and consider those who believe otherwise to be merely jealous. This attitude often leads their neighbours to think of them as lazy, hedonistic snobs, although this is rarly a fair assessment.
Italians
Italians are commensurate gamblers in every sense of the word. They tend to be impulsive, preferring action to thoughtful contemplation. Faced with two seemingly identical choices, they will select one at random and proceed without hesitation rather than gather information and consider all their options. In other words, they tend to 'look before they leap.' Italians love to wager and enjoy the thrill of a good race or sporting event, but they are also generally honest and do not appreciate being tricked or lied to. Bad choices sometimes lead unlucky Italians to a life of crime, where they frequently build Mafia-style 'families' based on a single activity, such as smuggling or drug trafficking. Even in this they remain honest in all dealings, even amongst themselves. Of course, the very act of performing these criminal acts as a risk in itself.
