Ich will auch mal! Und wie es bei mir zumeist Usus ist, in Englisch. Allerdings steht hier ja nichts, daß in Deutsch geposted werden *muss* ^_^

A Soul Gone

In the night
You open your windows
To let the dreams come in
And souls go out

I was skimming the surface of my dreams when I heard that beckoning call; a sound pure as moon beams and light as the flutter of elfin wings.

Enchanted, I sat up while my body kept lying in the crumpled sheets; another movement, and I floated free. Suddenly the room in which I left myself became history, and a wide plain stretched before me.

Luckily I didn't have to breathe in my current state, because the beauty of this ethereal landscape would have left me breathless anyway. The plain seemed to consist of translucent stones of different shades of blue, while the sky shone in hues of lavender. An orange-yellow sun poured rays of molten gold on the glistening ground.

In the next instant I became aware of a pool of fire, only some heartbeats away. I floated to the pond that bubbled strangely out of tune with the majestic quiet of the crystalline landscape. I folded my soul-wings and sat down on an amethyst boulder that lay in the vicinity of the pool and wondered...

Was this a door to the pulsing heart of the planet? A sudden eruption let some firy shapes burst into the lavender glow of the sky. They started to cool, became red, then lilac, blue, soft turquoise until they crystallized and continued their ways as aquamarine birds of paradise. I stared after the newborn creatures whose songs were so alike the alluring sounds that called me here.

Curiously I waited, hypnotized by the orange flames of the fire pool. Another eruption, and more crystalline creatures emerged, this time a couple of tourmaline sparrows and rainbowlike shimmering butterflies.

I floated nearer, yearning to become one with this pond of creation. Suddenly a piercing flash of agony shot through my astral body, when another eruption severed the fragile silver cord which connected my dreaming self with my sleeping body.

Now I have to stay; I can still drink in the wonders of creation, but no one else shall hear from the myriads I have encountered on this strange magickally plain of crystal and fire birth.

And so the pool remained forever a mystery.
