Air Defense Weapons
Hook Variant Surface-to-Air Missile
This variant of the ubiquitous hook infantry weapons adds a light man portable surface to air missile to the telekinetic weapon. The missile is held in a tube mounted parallel to the hook's shaft. It is telekinetically cold launched before its rocket motor engages a few meters from the firer.
Hornet
The WTA's Hornet follows a slightly different design philosophy from its Red Fleet counterparts. Instead of a conventional high-explosive warhead it mounts a high-explosive armor-piercing one, and increases the chances of a direct hit with more sophistaced guidance systems, making the Hornet a masterwork weapon.
Sokolov Surface-to-Air Missile
The Sokolov is a dedicated man portable surface to air missile developed by the Red Fleet.
Vehicular Air Defense Weapons
Heartland
The WTA Heartland missile system boasts a higher range and faster target aquisition than comparable URRS air defense weapons. The Heartland quad launcer counts as a masterwork weapon and its missiles use high-explosive armor piercing warheads.
Luna
These long range surface to air missiles are equipped with powerful high-explosive armor-piercing warheads, making them a threat to skyships and able to obliterate smaller aircraft.
Meteor
Meteor surface to air missiles mount high-explosive armor-piercing warheads.
Light Stratospheric Cannon
Stratospheric artillery throws massive shells into the air, capable of seriously damaging skyships. The light guns - still tremendously huge weapons - are prized for their exceptional range. The Vertical range increment of stratospheric cannons is ten times the listed value. Reloading a light stratospheric cannon takes a full round action with a team of Twelve loaders. With ten loaders loading requires one full round instead of a full round action. Every two missing loaders add one round to the reloading time. At least two loaders are required to load a stratospheric cannon.
Heavy Stratospheric Cannon
Heavy stratospheric cannons pack enough firepower to destroy smaller skyships with a single well placed shot. The Vertical range increment of stratospheric cannons is ten times the listed value. Reloading a heavy stratospheric cannon takes five full rounds with a team of Twelve loaders. Every two missing loaders add one round to the reloading time. At least two loaders are required to load a stratospheric cannon.
Air Defense Vehicles
Heartland Missile Truck
The Heartland missile truck is the dedicated transport for its namesake air defense system. Its crew of five consists of a commander, driver, gunner, assistant gunner, and an engineer.
Missile Karrier
The Red Fleet uses specialised missile karriers to deploy surface to air missiles in the field. These vehicles have the speed to advance with mechanized kolumns and carry one Luna or two Meteor missiles to defend their formation against air attack. The crew of four includes a commander, driver, gunner, and assistant gunner.
Stratospheric Artillery Bunker
While stratospheric artillery is mobile enough to be transported, it is usually mounted in fixed air defense installations, as the guns require considerable infrastructure to be effective. A standard gun emplacement is a hardened structure with protection similar to a Hydra class krawl. It offers space for the seventeen man gun crew consisting of a commander, gunner, assistant gunner, infokaster, engineer, and 12 loaders/assitant engineers, along with 25 troops to provide security.
